SPAMALOT
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT re-tells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls?
The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs.
The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”
The Spamalot set consists of the main upstage castle with sliding doors, which is 9m wide and 4.3m high. The doors, which are 2.3m wide by 2.3m high, are linked together and can be operated by one person. The set has two windows, from which the French can taunt King Arthur.
The lower edges of the windows are 2.8m from stage level, and rear platforms are not supplied with the set.
The two downstage towers are independent from the main castle, and can therefore be positioned to suit your stage size. The stage left tower has a detachable window for Herbert’s tower, and the stage right tower can be used to throw the cow over. Both towers have built-in platforms and can be used throughout the performance.
